Abstract
The devotional life has been called an "appointment with God," "quiet time," and "spending time with God." But scripture calls it "prayer." It is the foundation for a believer's spiritual growth, matures through the stages of discipleship, and its role is to align the heart of the believer with God's heart in Christ-like convictions, character, and conduct, daily reaching the goal, "his heart, my heart." This thesis/project trains thirty Christian college students with a forty day devotional on devotions using Matthew 6:5-15. Students were evaluated at the beginning and twice at the end to measure changes in their convictions, character, and conduct towards Christ-likeness.
