Assessing Latinamente the Preparation of Latin@s for Lay Ecclesial Ministry

Full Title
Assessing Latinamente, the Preparation of Latin@s for Lay Ecclesial Ministry
Latin@s represent 71% of the Catholic Church's growth, yet this population remains understudied, particularly Latin@ lay ministers. This thesis-project assessed Latin@ lay ecclesial ministers' preparation in terms of a Latin@ understanding of teologĂa and pastoral en/de conjunto. To provide this assessment, a theo-pastoral method, inspired by Latin@ theological and ministerial constructs, was designed, and an electronic survey was developed to collect data. The pool of respondents was 382. The thesis-project provides a more detailed profile of Latin@s in ministry, assesses the integration of Latin@ theological concepts and lived experience in their ministerial preparation, and points toward areas in need of further attention.
